| i've decided to focus on the facts. being wishy washy is no mind set for a person trying to compete. Tour of GA is coming up. yesterday i hung up the hard training and today started my tapper, four days out from stage one. two days ago Levi went out on his TT bike, Giom Palo and agreed that that was no good: trying to draft behind a guy on a TT bike that you can't draft off in the first place. i told GP i needed to do some climbing, so he showed me some new roads, closer to the ocean, the bogy old growth redwood forests: single lane old logging roads that end high on a ridge or at some place where half the hillside slipped away. some that not even the governor of SR has done. then yesterday Levi and i motor paced behind a scooter for a couple hours through the patchy rainy roads, then i moto paced behind him for the next 2, north of SR then down through Napa county, then went gangbusters up Spring Mtn road 15 minutes and steep. 111 miles, 4600kjs later at home again i probably enjoy that too much. but it's so good. . . there's simply NO way i could bring myself to train that long/hard/deliberate on my own. and i don't hear much about those sort of days going on in boulder. ..i enjoy the process a little too much. I like where the bike has taken me even w/o the racing; what sort of demons i've been able to negotiate. which has led me to think i have to soak it in, and move on just as quickly, as there are bigger fish to fry, and one that national viewers will be watching if/when you get the chance to do so. we rolled back into santa rosa yesterday. . i still had a half hour to get back to Sebastopol where Jennifer lives., right near his turn off, Levi asked, "so who do you think's going to win Georgia?" . . "you" i easily said, as i had been thinking it for the last hour or two. "gooood answer" he replied. . . no wishy washy. |
