first GPM (kom) went for it .. 3 guys were off the front, brought back 1 .. but some other dude who was flying bridged up to the other 2 (kom went 3 deap) no dice. but after the decent one other dude and i took advantage of the splintered peleton , got off th e front bout a 30 sec gap for a long while , then garcia came up with a good size group wht some good names .. and that held to the finish.
by the way, theres something poetic, when snaking through the villas , having to hop people's door mats while racing your bike. .

back the race . . antonio our little italian hit jop soungier (swan-ya-er) didnt manage to make it to the feed zone, which was anywhere on the course inside of 20km and 20km to go. . we think he didnt know how to drive a manual transmisiion, but havent got word on that yet. .
he give s good rubs. . gets you ALL oiled up,, well not all oiled up, and then just starts the fiction gets your body temp to aobut 103 f . .letting the blood flow rid the junk. . (please take that last quote in context) ..
but, the point is. . Gavin couldnt get up to the break to give G and i a feed. . i-e, we did about 80km on no water .. acua as they say. . havent got word on why gavin couldnt get up to us.s.
bbut with about 10 km to go i got a couple bottles from the support-wheel car. . chugged one, and opened the screw top on the other , taking a sip as i handed it to Garcia (trying to make it look like i was sharing our ONLY one bottle) . . i wouldnt announce this all publicly, but i m yet to receive a thankyou from the guy (hand written would be nice). . but i did find out that he is a theist, because he grunted 'thank god' as i reached a bottle his way. ..
we didnt manage a sprint. . i tried, but its hard when all your muscle cell walls are colapsed and you cant see past the crystals of salt on your eye lids.

"BMC opens European campaign
The BMC Professional Racing Team began racing in Europe Wednesday in the first stage of the Giro del Friuli Venezia Giulia. The all American team included neopro Scott Nydam,who recently finished sixth in the Tour of Georgia GC, Jonathon Garcia, Ian MckIssick, Ken Hanson, and Jackson Stewart. All but Stewart are new to racing in Europe.
Team Director Gavin Chilcott, said optimistically, "Today's first stage was a good sign for the future. Scott Nydam and Jonathon Garcia rode in the breakaway of 18 that gained about a minute on the main field. The team rode with exceptional confidence and class in their European debut."
In the car assisting Chilcott in the five-day Italian stage race is special guest John Lelangue. "It's a real pleasure working with John. He will be especially helpful tomorrow as we embark on the team's first ever team time trial. His experience in this unique event will be invaluable," said Chilcott."
All right BMC with a TTT win, and on your first try. Looks like Ian didnt ease up... Nice work Garcia and Nydam! Tied for 1st in GC! 1st in team classification! You guys are rocking it!
