i'm already forgetting ..
oh wait, this was the tough day.
the one were i was seeing stars
until the next morning. ..
133 miles or so,
and constant up and down,
a couple Cat 3 KOMs until the final
"smaller" KOM only 2km for the finish.
which, unexpectantly kicked up to 15%+ gradiant
for the last 300 meters. .
and if not being somewhere close to position
i would have most def missed out on the split
of 18 riders.
Little Lill gased it when an attack went at the base
of the last KOM, then
astana and s*$%stream pulled it back in,
and then suddenly the big smackdown went down.
Lill would have been there if he would have
had another moment to recover from the first move.
as we crested the top of the KOM
i had to put in an expert i-am-getting-dropped-one-last-ditch-effort-move
to tag on to the group right before the descent,
we bombed down into a fast and tight left hander--
that everyone was claiming as being sketchy,
but one that i vaguely remember,
and prob went thru better b/c i was delerious. .
everyone was smoked in the last km, then Rich England
took his opportunity and made it thru the last corner in first
which got him the win.
hat's off, Bissel!
