Thanks Give

i guess,
i give thanks for good health.
but to what, or to whom?
to me?
thanks me?!?

or, back up.

thanks me, for my life?
wait, ...
it doesn't make sense,

this need, and holiday fulfillment, of giving thanks:
it feels SO gooooouooooood;
thankfulness;
to say, "i'm thankful for ____X____"

yet, we drop it there,
we let our recognition go that far, no further.

do we really give credit where credit is due?
and, if we give thanks for a small piece of life,
what about the greater context?

where does it stop?
or, within whom's perameters can it be contained, or understood?
what is to be said of the infinitesmal alignment of occurances that bring us to that supposed spot where claim to stand in: gratitude.

how do i recognize it all?

how to sufficiently say thanks?

if a heart was purely grateful,
then where does it turn?

hey scotty, there's this french proverb that says "gratitude is the heart's memory." your post reminded me of how much i love that proverb. thanks. lizzie
