Thanks Give

i guess,
i give thanks for good health.
but to what, or to whom?
to me?
thanks me?!?

or, back up.

thanks me, for my life?
wait, ...
it doesn't make sense,

this need, and holiday fulfillment, of giving thanks:
it feels SO gooooouooooood;
thankfulness;
to say, "i'm thankful for ____X____"

yet, we drop it there,
we let our recognition go that far, no further.

do we really give credit where credit is due?
and, if we give thanks for a small piece of life,
what about the greater context?

where does it stop?
or, within whom's perameters can it be contained, or understood?
what is to be said of the infinitesmal alignment of occurances that bring us to that supposed spot where claim to stand in: gratitude.

how do i recognize it all?

how to sufficiently say thanks?

if a heart was purely grateful,
then where does it turn?

"sluffbugger"

sluffbugger is retiring.
he's hangin it up.

thanks for all you who've been along for the ride,.. .
so you know,
my best understanding
of the term "sluffbugger"
is that equal to
or the likeness of

n. "a slacker" (Tasmania)

fortress ross, northern cal coast

this is me off the back

this is me off the front

you see.
went down to the gualala river.
they call it
the meeting place.
the 1st people
called it "where the river meets the see"
i call it
the place where i got engaged.
that's right.
the place i/we made a huge decision.
there aren't many moments in you life
where you decide to do something
that is going to last a lifetime.
most things are reproachable,
this, in my book,
isn't.
nevada city classic
awarded Sayers and myself a decent alotement of kopecks,
and assuming Mike's good nature,
i went to the corner jeweler,
broad street, NV City,
right infront of the finish line
the day before,
and blew it on white gold and diamond.
the second time in the store,
after hovering over the rings,
went inside and showed the clerk behind the counter
a couple checks made out to "cash"
from the Chamber of Commerce NV City Classic,
and asked if they'd honor them,
the jeweler said, "by the looks of ya, probably
more than one of your own!" with a smile.
they gave me a $60 discount,
and
i walked out of there with 62.
a certain amount of affirmation
from the good Lord that it was the right ring.

a week later
