OPEN ROAD ON kINGS rIDGE. pic compliments of TR_WCS
the road we rode yest.

today was a hellacious day.
109 mile, 5 h 40 min
i was a little salty after the ride.
no, i was salty going into it. .
people recently have been telling me to "dig in deep .. . when it hurts, get a little more .. do it for the team. . "
and
"you need to loose weight"
and
"i think it's great that you're riding with Levi, but i don't want you to bury yourself. "

bury yourself/don't bury yourself.
don't eat that!
. . .
meanwhile..
my reality today consisted of dealing with ocean cross winds in the rolling hills ,
being the one designated to Levi's wheel so the three of us neo-pros don't get dropped. ..
chris, glenn, and i. . ..
and it was hardly a wheel at all . .the dude swapped out for his TT bike half way through when his wife met us out on the open road. . . it was like trying to get a draft off a 6 year old on his tricycle ..
don't bury yourself. .
don't eat that.
dig in deep!
don't eat that.

the wind,
ah, my legs!

He was killing it. . .absolutely klling it.

a small gap would open up and Levi: gone.
i'd fight to bring it back ..

the last 15 min interval he drilled it. .
i dug, and did a bit of burying my self.
i thought of my dad and his post-op recovery. .
that helped, made me feel not so bad. .
Levi could sense that i was salty.

but i dont know,
maybe a little edge is a good thing.
maybe i need to stay salty.
feel like i have to prove some thing . .
because, actually. . i do.
