maybe i'm not a blogger. i was faking it there for while.
i'm just now back to normal, two weeks after friuli.
the more you gain the idea of what it feels like to be on form, the quicker you are to realize (even the slitest bit) of when you are not.
that's my disclaimer for not writing more.
sometimes you lose grip of the whole loving-it part of loving what you're doing.
your mind remembers that you're glad you're doing what you're doing, but you're not feeling it at the time.
these past couple weeks have been a mental lull if anything else.
most of the/my exciting, early season races behind me, mental and phys fatigue setting in; philly week ahead, for which i am glad to be doing, but it's just that they're not races that (in past) i have grown to endear. my idea of bike racing somehow involves rolling over the top of some mountain pass.. not so much breathing soot from the urban streets and wiping the raccoon eyes off your face after having ridden 160 miles through polluted city streets. but hey, there's poetry is that too i suppose, and prob some related health risks, but what ever.
speaking of mountain passes Ken H and Jackson S met up in SJose for the Mt Hamilton RR yesterday. over the climb (i nabbed the KOM) Jxn got off the front with a few guys including Wohlberg from symetrics. and after destroying the other guys in the break, the two road it to the line Jxn getting 2nd. . finished up with Jacque-Maynes from Priority heath, he out sprinting me at the line for 3rd, i got 4th, and i think Ken pulled in around 10th.
Jennifer did her first ever feed zone. . she handed off Musettes (little purses, as she calls them, each with bottles and other goodies in'm) (she's always drawing parallels b/t cycling dudes and ladies that come through her birth clinic) (she's a midwife). .and she was a pro (i.e. didn't pull anyone off their bike)

Good to hear from the sluffbugger... Congrats on the KOM. I think that I can understand the lull in excitement, work (no matter how cool the job is) can sometimes get a bit dull. Although, I can always look forward to seeing what you are up to when the kids start getting on the nerves. Hope new motivation/excitement comes your way so that I can read about it!
