a nice 93 miler with Giam Paolo this morning over Geysers Road .. the first half of his Terrible 2 (200 miles) unofficial "race" coming up on June .. then the Santa Rosa Twilight Crit tonight/in few hours. . . here in wine country a lot of the crit pre'ms involve fresh loaves of bread and regional wine. . i think i'm racing for the wine tonight! forget the finish. .. yesterday jennifer and i went to Bill Best's 70th birthday party. .he's the dude who can still kill it on the bike AND can cash in on all the senior citizen benefits. . the party was at G P's and Luca's Riviera restaurant. . place was hopin'. Levi gave a call from France to say happy b day. Bill was all decked out in his black Nike garb, looking Discovery-official. . judging by a lot of the tan lines, i think a lot of my local crit competition was there, and judging my some of their boozin, they might be fightin off a hangover today. .. so hopefully that mean they won't be racing so hard for those bottles tonite!
